This therapy card is perfect for learning about functional and dysfunctional ego-states. The green zone is the integrated functional parts of our personality working in harmony from Growth Mode. When we get triggered into Survival Mode we are in the red zone. Notice that the red zone ego-states have no direct access to the Adult Self Ego-state. I give the card to my clients for a tool for emotional regulation when they get triggered into survival mode. Turning the card over outlines concise descriptions of each ego-state and shifts the student from reactive, fight-or-flight mode into the proactive, executive functioning mode.
